Savings Champion Rate Alert

Wednesday 14th June 2017

Today we saw a challenger bank branch out into previously uncharted waters in the savings market and have subsequently taken a strong stand in our best buy tables.

Charter Savings Bank unleashed a new range of cash ISA products, many of which now feature in our best buy tables.

First we turn our attention to the variable rate cash ISA market, where we saw the newly launched Easy Access Cash ISA Issue 1, paying 1.06% tax free/AER swoop in to take second place in our table.

Offering the market-leading rate for an easy access cash ISA, along with being simple and straightforward, this account could suit many. In addition to this, monthly interest payments are also available should you prefer it.

Charter Savings Bank has also launched a 1, 2 and 3 year fixed rate cash ISA. Although offering competitive rates on all three, our attention was drawn to the 1 year term.

The new 1 Year Fixed Rate Cash ISA has topped our table paying 1.16% tax free/AER, also with the option of monthly interest payments.

It is interesting to note, that all the new cash ISA products on offer from Charter Savings Bank are portfolio ISAs, this means that you are able to open multiple cash ISAs with Charter Savings Bank in the same tax year.

These accounts also allow the transfer of previously accrued ISA funds, which could be another appealing attribute for many savers.
