Savings Champion Rate Alert

Thursday 27th April 2017

With the first month of the 2016/17 tax year coming to an end, the flow of new cash ISAs launching continues.

This week, Britannia launched a new 1 and 2 year fixed rate cash ISA, paying 1.10% and 1.25% tax free/AER respectively, resulting in a rare appearance in our Fixed Rate Cash ISA Best Buy tables for the provider.

Although neither are reaching the pinnacle of their respective tables, it is encouraging to see yet another provider improving rates.

In our 1 year table Bank of Cyprus UK holds the top spot with its 1 Year Fixed Rate Cash ISA, paying 1.13% tax free/AER.

Paragon Bank occupy the throne in both the 2 and 5 year tables, paying 1.26% and 1.75% tax free/AER respectively. In addition to paying the market-leading rates, there is also the option of monthly interest payments for those that would prefer it.

Finally, in our 3 year table, Coventry Building Society leads the field with its Fixed Rate ISA (39), paying 1.40% tax free/AER.
