🔔 Good Advice After Bad

Last week it was announced that some of the England rugby team took some seriously bad advice from none other than the team kit man, which got us thinking about financial advice and most importantly, those who are qualified to give it. *

The story broke in the Sun claiming that Dave Tennison, the team kit man, badgered players to buy shares in energy company, LGO Energy. And after £100,000 of players money was invested, the shares dived from £3.27 to just 50p now.

The story highlights the fact that anyone can give you free advice, but it's the quality of the advice given that's important and the relevant experience of the people giving it. It seems that many people would rather take free advice from someone they know, rather than professional and qualified advice from someone they don't.

Talking to your friends, reading the financial pages in the press and the vast amount of information that is available on the Internet makes advice seem more accessible and of course potentially free - but is it a false economy, as was the case with Dave, the kit man? Nothing beats speaking to a qualified expert when it comes to something as important as financial matters.
