RECOGNISING THE BEST PERFORMERS IN THE SAVINGS MARKET
Now in their eighth year, The Savings Champion Awards have grown over that time to become one of the most sought-after awards in the savings industry.
Our awards show recognition in a range of savings categories from easy access, fixed rate bonds and cash ISAs to the best cash savings platforms to choose from. They are the only awards that focus solely on savings, giving this key area of the market the focus that it deserves.
And it’s not all about competitive rates, we also give important consideration to service for savers with our ’Award for Customer Service’.
It’s no secret that savers have had another tough year, but with the base rate hitting a record low level of just 0.10%, this year has been particularly tough. That being said there are still providers which sought to pull in new savers with competitive rates, along with providers that have worked hard to support and keep their existing savers - and they should be commended for that. While high street providers, among others, are paying virtually nothing, it’s time to call out those who have given at least something back to support our struggling savers.
For providers, winning an award is a powerful accolade, while for savers our awards are a clear way to identify the best accounts and providers in the savings market.
Big winners this year include UBL UK - winning five awards in total while BLME have won two awards including the prestigious 'Best Savings Provider'. Another big winner is Coventry Building Society - winning no less than three awards.
It’s important to recognise those providers that have helped to keep some competition alive in the savings market, offering savers an alternative to leaving their funds languishing with the high street banks.
Our judging process is independent, comprehensive and detailed and involves weekly reviews of the savings market for each category throughout the year.
The judging of all of our awards is undertaken with the same level of rigour that we apply to all aspects of our business, which means that these awards are given solely on merit.
