Anna Bowes Biography
Anna Bowes is a regular contributor to the BBCs Money Box, Breakfast and News programs as well as the national press, providing expert analysis and commentary on the UK savings market.
Anna has worked in the financial services industry for more than 20 years and for most of that time Anna has been helping people to make the most of their savings.
Anna started her career with IFA Chase de Vere, in their innovative Moneyline department, a free savings information service that became as popular with personal finance journalists as it was with savers. Anna believes passionately that savings advice is a neglected part of the financial services sector and that the needs of savers are largely ignored by the savings product providers and the Government.
Susan Hannums Biography
Sue Hannums is a regular contributor to the Guardian, Telegraph and Mail on Sunday as well as most other national press, providing expert analysis and commentary on the UK savings market.
Sue has spent her entire career working in financial services analysing the savings sector and sharing her extensive knowledge with both the general public and journalists who cover savings.
For much of that time, Sue worked at IFA, Chase de Vere, with Anna Bowes, her co-founder at Savings Champion.
Personal finance journalists across all media, including the BBC, often took advantage of Sue's and Anna’s shared expertise in savings, and their understanding of the way that the 126 or so different savings account providers take advantage of their savings customers’ inertia.
It is this undisputed savings expertise, combined with their shared passion for ensuring that savers earn the best rate for their savings accounts, that encouraged Sue and Anna to set up Savings Champion and to help rebalance the market in favour of savers.
Chris Shaw Biography
Chris Shaw has been in Financial Services since 1984 when he joined Chase de Vere Investments as an adviser.
Chris later moved into the role of Sales Director and was part of the team which sold the business to Bank of Ireland in 2000. After leaving Chase de Vere, Chris joined JS&P Ltd where he helped create the fee based advice business now known as Towry.
Along with Anna and Sue, Chris wanted to create a cash savings advice business that helps savers ensure they’re always getting the best returns for their needs. Giving truly whole of market, unbiased advice.
Chris is also an enthusiastic environmentalist and has spent time in the Amazon as part of a project to reduce rainforest destruction.
That is why 50% of the share capital of the business is pledged by shareholders to a charity, Restore UK, which supports local and international nature and animal charities.
Restore UK has not invested any monies into Savings Champion.
