How do I add money to my Notice account?

When you open your Notice account you will be given a sort code and an account number which you can use to make electronic payments into your Monument account from your Linked Account.

You can also transfer money into your Notice account from your Monument Easy Access Savings account, if you have one.

How do I withdraw money?

You can withdraw your money through the Monument app to your Linked Account or your Monument Easy Access Savings account, if you have one.

You can have multiple withdrawal requests at the same time, as long as the total amount requested to be withdrawn is not more than your total available account balance.

Can I cancel a withdrawal request?

Yes, you can cancel a withdrawal request using the Monument app until the evening before the withdrawal is due to be paid.

Can the interest rate change on my notice account?

The interest rate on our notice accounts is variable and may change. If we change the rate, we’ll let you know by emailing you.

What is the minimum balance?

£25,000.

This balance requirement is for the combined total across all of your Monument accounts. For example, if you have an Easy Access and a Notice Account with us, you must hold a minimum of £25,000 in total across both accounts.

What is the interest rate?

AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate. This shows you what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and compounded once each year.

Gross is the rate of interest payable before income tax is deducted.

Interest is calculated daily and is paid monthly. Interest can be paid to your Linked Account or into your Monument Notice Account.

Can Monument change the interest rate?

Yes, the interest rate is variable and may change.

We can change the interest rate at our discretion for any of the reasons detailed in Section 3 of our Notice Account Terms.

If we increase the rate, we will apply it immediately and we will inform you of the increase within 30 days of it being made.

We will give you at least 14 days’ notice in advance of any rate reduction. You will have 30 days from the date of the notification to tell us you would like to close your Notice Account or switch to a different Monument Savings Account and you will not be required to provide the 7 day notice.

What would the estimated balance be after 12 months based on a £1,000 or £25,000 deposit?

  • You make a deposit of £1,000 or £25,000 on the account opening date

How do I open and manage my account?

You can open and manage your account through the Monument mobile app.

Eligibility:

  • You must be aged 18 or over
  • You must be a UK resident
  • This account can only be opened in one person’s name
  • You must have a personal UK bank account that allows transfers to be made to and from your Monument Notice Account
  • You can only have one 7 Day Notice Account

Minimum and Maximum Balance:

  • £25,000 minimum balance across all Monument savings accounts you hold including this one
  • £2,000,000 maximum balance across all Monument savings accounts you hold including this one

Making Deposits:

  • Unlimited deposits
  • You have 14 days from account opening to make your first deposit; if the account remains unfunded at the end of this period, the account will be automatically closed
  • Deposits can only be made by electronic payment from your Linked Account or transferred from a Monument Easy Access Savings account in your name
  • Any funds received from another account that is not your Linked Account will be returned
  • We do not accept deposits in cash or cheque
Can I withdraw money?

Yes, partial or full withdrawals can be requested through the Monument mobile app either to your Linked Account or Monument Easy Access Savings account if you have one.

All withdrawals are subject to the 7 day notice period, which starts on the calendar day you request the withdrawal. For example, if you requested a withdrawal on 1 March, the amount you requested to withdraw will be paid on 8 March; you’ll continue to earn interest during this period.

You can cancel a withdrawal request until 23:59 the evening before the withdrawal is due to be paid.

Additional information

You can change your mind and close a Notice Account you have opened without any penalties or notice within 14 days following the account opening date.

Please contact us and we will close the account and return any funds you have deposited including any accrued interest.

We do not deduct tax from any interest paid to you. You will need to pay any tax you owe to HMRC or other Tax authorities applicable to you
