Santander has launched a new
Regular eSaver paying 5% gross/AER, which is exclusive to its current account customers.
To qualify for the new regular saver, you could combine it with a
123 Current Account, that offers up to 3% AER on balances up to £20,000. Although the account has a £5 monthly fee, this is offset by the interest earned. Make sure you're also taking full advantage of the cashback facility to further mitigate the monthly fee.
What’s more, savers can open up to three accounts, making a total of £60,000; one in your sole name, one in joint names and one in your partner's name with £20,000 in each. This can be a great way to limit the hassle of multiple accounts with several providers, while still getting a great return.
There are other providers that offer the combination of a high interest current account and a regular savings account. Here are a selection of some of the best rates on offer.
TSB Bank has a
Classic Plus Account, that is paying 5% AER on balances up to £2,000 and a
Monthly Saver paying 5% gross/AER.
Nationwide Building Society offers a
FlexDirect Current Account paying 5% AER on balances up to £2,500.
Customers who hold a 'Flex' Current Account, will qualify for the
Flexclusive Regular Saver paying 5% gross/AER.
