Frequently Asked Questions
At Savings Champion we are dedicated to savings and savings accounts and can only advise on those savings accounts that aren’t regulated by the FCA and PRA. However we can talk you through the different types of savings accounts available and the rates offered.
If you’re looking for more tailored savings advice, our Cash Advice Service gives you the best rates whilst spreading the risk so your money is always protected by the FSCS or equivalent.
Rates are monitored daily by our dedicated savings research team and we do our best to ensure all the rates listed are up to date and correct. From time to time there may be errors due to misinformation from providers, or simply human error, so please do let us know if you feel we need to correct our data so that we can continue to provide the best service for our customers.
Rate Tracker is a free service that not only reminds you when your bonus is about to expire, or your bond is due to mature, but also alerts you to any changes to your savings rates. Your diary can't alert you to any unanticipated changes, that's why we monitor your account. Banks and building societies have been happily slashing rates in recent months and we’ve been eagerly tracking and monitoring these account changes to ensure our users are kept fully informed and always know if they’re getting a good deal on their money.
At Savings Champion, we believe that everyone should be able to compare the savings market and make savings decisions with the confidence that the information they receive is comprehensive, unbiased and uncompromised by financial considerations.
Our website and services cover the whole UK savings market and are in place to help you cut through the jargon and confusing product placement that you find elsewhere. We are proud of the independent, objective information and tools that we produce to help you.
It is important to us that we run a business that meets the highest standards of professionalism and delivery for our clients.
Many of the services that we provide - for example our popular best buy tables and Rate Tracker service - are free to use, but in order to offer these valuable tools to every saver, we make money in other ways that doesn’t compromise our principles.
So, how do we make our money?
We offer savers that have larger amounts to deposit our Cash Advice Service, which provides advice on savings accounts that are suitable for each client’s particular circumstances and assists with the application process, in exchange for a fee.
Some banks and building societies will remunerate us if savers use our website to apply for and open an account – something that we make very clear on our best buy tables and in our written communications.
We also have a group of carefully selected partners, which offer a range of services that fall outside of the scope of our savings expertise – but those that you may find useful. You can rest assured that we only will only put you in touch with one of our partners with your full and clear agreement.

Provider remuneration
We are occasionally paid by some providers if you click through from our best buy tables, the articles on our website or from our regular communications (such as our newsletter and regular Rates Alerts) and then open a savings or current account with them.
For clarity, we will indicate those companies who remunerate us in this way with an asterisk *.
We will never accept a payment that compromises in any way our independent, whole of market approach to providing information on savings products.
For more information on how we pick our best buy tables, take a look at our methodology page.
