Following 12 years of monitoring UK savings accounts and helping savers to earn more interest on their hard earned cash, we’re excited to announce the finalists for the latest Savings Champion Awards. The Savings Champion awards are the only awards that focus solely on savings – giving this key area of the market the recognition and focus that it deserves.
Now in their 11th year, our awards acknowledge excellence in a wide range of savings categories, recognising those banks and building societies that have consistently offered competitive rates for savers and promoted competition in the savings market over the last 12 months.
And what a 12 months it’s been. With five base rate hikes in the last year alone – 14 in total since the Bank of England started increasing rates in December 2021, it’s been another great year for savers, with the base rate at a level last seen in 2008. But not all providers have passed on the good news to savings customers.
We celebrate those providers that are driving competition and helping savers to earn as much as possible from their cash – especially when inflation remains well above the government’s target of 2%. When inflation is high, finding the best rates is more important than ever, as this will help you to try and keep up with the rising cost of living.
Savings Champion is one of the few places savers can go for truly independent, whole-of-market savings advice. So, our wealth of knowledge, experience and unrivalled research and data – combined with our impartiality – is what makes our awards different and our opinion trusted.
For providers, winning an award is a powerful accolade, while for savers our award logos are a clear way to identify the best accounts and providers in the savings market.
Our judging process is independent, comprehensive and detailed and involves weekly reviews of the savings market for each category throughout the year.
Not only do we look at those providers who offer competitive products to new savers, but we also have a category that highlights those providers that are supporting their existing customers as well.
